3 Key Strategies Newbies Need to Succeed at Online Marketing

The rookie Internet Marketer was on my mind today, and I wanted to give some helpful advice for those who may be just starting out on the journey. If you've just started an online business, or perhaps are thinking of starting one then you owe it to yourself to read this brief article before doing anything else! With that in mind, let's outline some core strategies that will bring you the success you want.

Strategy 1-Proper Expectations.

Before you do anything else, you've got to have the right expectations for your business (and life). First, please don't expect to get rich overnight! Too many good people have lost hundreds and thousands of dollars because they bought into some convincing marketing campaign. Don't be gullible and think that money will suddenly appear without much work at all. I actually wrote a more in depth report called 'How Not To Be Gullible In..." If you are looking for more information, then check out the link below.. So with that being said, start to developing the right expectations of what you think is to come. (Hint-Expect to work hard, but smart. One way to do that is by finding a good mentor who knows how to do what you want to accomplish).

Strategy 2-Make a plan and then work your plan.

So now you know that tens of thousands of dollars won't be knocking on your door next week, but you do know that is will come with hard work, consistency, patience, and partnering up with the right leader. What's next? Formulate your plan! Map out (on paper might be a really good idea) your goals for the first 30-90 days, and then up to 6 or even 12 months. Once you do that, you'll want to lay out action steps that will help you achieve those goals-one by one. After you have the necessary steps lined up, and how you'll accomplish those, you must implement! Yep, that's right, you've actually got to roll up your sleeves and get to WORK.

Strategy 2A-Set a budget and time-line for your goals.

This one really ties in with strategy 2 because you'll want to make sure
that you set a realistic operating budget for your business. Remember this is a business not a hobby, and as such you will need to have a decent advertising budget lined up for at least the first few months. Once you get past the first 90 days, then you can (and should) take some of your profits and reinvest them back into your business.

Strategy 3-Develop yourself.

Personal development can't be understated here because you will only go as far as your mind can take you. There is an Scripture in the Bible that says 'as a man thinks in his heart, so he is.' You really are a product of your thoughts. I can't tell you how many people I've met in life that are so defeated by what they think, say, and do. And it all starts with your thoughts. Your mind is extremely powerful, and whether you believe it or not, the fact remains that you've got to get rid of 'stinking thing' if you want to achieve anything really great in life. There are many resources available to help you in that regard. One idea may be to check out 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napolean Hill. Just a thought!

The Top 3 Reasons People Fail in MLM and Direct Sales

Is there any real explanation why so many people fail in MLM and home based businesses? Absolutely. Failure in Multi Level Marketing, MLM, Network Marketing, and even in Direct Sales companies happens far too often, and most people don't even realize why.

(For now, I am going to lump the Direct Sales Industry together with MLM and Network marketing because they share some similar traits. For the purposes of this article, we'll treat them about the same).

One of the biggest reasons some many people fail in MLM and traditional Network Marketing companies is that they blindly follow the advice of the up-line and even their own company! Let's get even more specific. Most if not every MLM out there direct people to make a list of their family and friends (their warm market), then go chase those people down with their opportunity or product, or both. Once people have wreaked havoc on their poor unsuspecting family and friends, they are then directed to go out and buy leads (cold market). Thus we come to our first reason:

REASON #1:
People fail in MLM because they don't go after targeted leads. Most peoples' family and friends are not good leads-plain and simple. Second, when people buy leads they are not only wasting their money, but also asking for a serious case of aggravation and frustration. Calling people relentlessly on the phone (smiling and dialing) is a ridiculous waste of time. Unless you are attracting targeted leads (people who already have expressed an interest in what you have to offer), you won't get very far.

Reason #2:
Let's face it-people don't like to be sold-they like to buy. People in these traditional Network Marketing companies are brainwashed into thinking that you must try to offer your product or opportunity to anyone breathing (as if they weren't already bombarded with hundreds of advertisements every day). In reality, that is getting the cart before the horse. The age-old principle of selling involves getting someone else to do what you want them to do. Successful marketers know a little secret (actually a great big one): you don't try to convince someone else that they need your product. You find out what needs are already in the marketplace, and then go meet that need. The difference between the two may not sound so big to most people, however one yields frustration and the other yields big rewards!

Reason #3:
Lack of leverage. The facts are most people don't even know what leverage really means. In business, it simply means doing work one time, yet reaping the reward of that work over and over. I'll give you an example of leverage in business: this article. You see, I wrote this article one time, yet it continually works for me over, and over and over! Get the idea. There are so many ways to significantly reduce your work load that once you start applying this principle, you'll wonder how you ever survived without it!

"As a former franshise owner and operator, I can specifically speak to the notion of whether or not franchises have finally met their match or not. Specifically, I’m talking about taking the traditional franchise business model as we know it not just here in America, but worldwide and directly comparing that to a new concept called “The Online Franchise System.”

A Global Resorts Network Review

If you are looking to get the cold hard truth about Global Resorts Network, you’ve come to the right place my friend. What I’m about to reveal are not just the facts about GRN, but an insider’s perspective from someone who spent 14 months promoting the opportunity ‘tooth and toenail.’

I’ll give you some history on the company and then share the good, bad, and the ugly from my personal experiences in just a bit. First off, let me say that Global Resorts Network is a direct sales company based out of Phoenix, Arizona which was created back in 2006 by principle Al Morales. His experience was in the timeshare property venue for nearly 20 years. He decided to re-sell leftover weeks from timeshare properties all around the world as a “luxury” travel membership to the general public through a multi level marketing style approach.

There are two types of memberships available: Gold is a three year limited membership for $1595, which allows up to 3 weeks of travel per year and is non-transferable. Travel is only allowed in 7-day increments and based on availability. The Platinum membership is a lifetime (100 year) membership good for unlimited travel at over 5,000 properties world wide and can be transferred to anyone else at anytime. It costs $3,095 and also only allows travel in 7-day increments.

When a Gold membership is ‘sold’ to another individual, the GRN affiliate will normally receive a $500 commission. The exception is on the first sale, where the affiliate receives $250, and their sponsoring affiliate gets $250. Beyond that, the affiliate will pass up 100% of their commission for the first new level below them at which they qualify. That can be very costly, and I’ll share more about that below. The Platinum membership pays $1,000 for each sale with the exception of the first sale which pays $500 and a zero commission on each new level they sell from. (Yes, I know it is complex-most GRN affiliates never fully understand the comp plan after years with the company!).

My personal experience with Global Resorts was bittersweet. Let me explain, it was my first true experience with an online business in the direct sales marketplace (direct sales means you sell product direct to consumer and collect payment from the customer directly and then pass that along to corporate headquarters). I spent 14 months working like an absolute dog literally day and night 7 days a week for many months on end. I was considered a top producer with Global Resort Network, but that really didn’t mean a whole lot. Because I would spend sometimes half or more of my commission to acquire the sale, I was left with a whole lot at the end of the month. Sure, I sold a handful of memberships each month, but your life really won’t radically change with that kind of money!

I went to the events, I pumped out personal branding content like it was water, and was 100% committed for over a year. Finally, as my sales began to slump, despite spending even more on advertising, enough was enough. I decided to quit and sit back for several weeks to re-evaluate my life, my goals, and my results.

After several weeks of soul crushing search and scouring the Internet for every conceivable biz opp online, I finally found one I could feel good about, where their product was desperately needed by everyone (let’s face it-we’re in the worst recession since the Great Depression). Also, do you have a proven mentor to personally guide you to the success you’re looking for? You’d better check up on them and see if they have a reputation of signing you up, and then dropping their new members! Ideally, you want a personal mentor who already has the results that you are looking for.

To maximize your time spent with Life Path Unlimited, you will need a way to literally generate leads and make sales on autopilot. Again, let me emphasize the point-products do no sell themselves, and if you don't have systems and tools in place that are proven over time to create leads and sales , then you will be out of business fast. You will need effective websites designed, proven ad copy (copywriting) that converts leads to sales, as well as a system in place to answer your prospects’ questions so you don’t have to say the same thing over and over to people day in and day out!

It's not that Life Path is a bad company, or that their conferences are not worth it (you'll need to decide that), it's just that you don't want to have to figure things out on your own-you want a solid marketing plan in place that can create $50K a month like clockwork.
